Lenovo has officially released the Phab 2 Pro, which is the first device that supports Google Tango AR (augmented reality) system. The latest device can run all the 35 Tango apps currently available at the Play Store.

The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro is equipped with the Google-created technology, the necessary camera and sensor hardware that will let its users visualize things through their phone. A program called Scenes from Matterport will let one see things in 3D, while iStaging and Homestyler Interior Design will allow its users to picture a piece of furniture as it is placed in the living room. One can also use Measure to get the dimensions an object via the phone or watch a virtual pet in Raise as it interacts with the objects in the front yard. A user can also shoot an enemy in Phantogeist that is hiding behind the bookshelf.

The device was originally launched back in June, and it has a 6.4-inch QHD (1440 x 2560) assertive display with 2.5D curved glass. The screen brightness automatically adapts to the light conditions in real time, be it sunlight or light reflection, and it also offers 459 ppi pixel density. It arrives with a 70.9 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The processing power comes from the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 & 4x1.4 GHz Cortex-A53) with Adreno 510 GPU and 4 GB of RAM. Internal storage is placed at 64 GB, expandable up to 256 GB via a microSD card.

The Lenovo Phab 2 Pro also has a 16 MP camera at the back that has a 0.3 seconds focus time and features depth and motion tracking, phase detection autofocus, and face detection, among others. The front contains an 8 MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture lens. The new smartphone also comes with Dolby Atmos audio technology and a 5.1 audio capture capability with its 3-microphone system. There is also 4050 mAh battery with 2.4x turbocharging.

The latest Lenovo device is now available via the Lenovo website for $499.99 and comes in Champaign Gold and Gunmetal Gray.
