Lebron James is no stranger to falling short on the first try when it comes to an NBA title. He had that painful experience when he first joined the Miami Heat in 2010.
It will be recalled that despite the presence of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, the Heat fell on their first try. And everyone knows that the following year, the Heat became champions.
Could this be the case for the Cleveland Cavaliers as far as the upcoming 2015–16 NBA season is concerned?
James did bring to Instagram his excitement about playing alongside Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving next season and the Cavs are certainly looking to improve on the runner-up finish from the 2014–15 NBA wars. With the whole gang back in tow, the only concern right now is probably how the mainstays will stay healthy.
To recall, Love went down with a shoulder injury in the first round of the NBA playoffs against the Boston Celtics and Irving dropped out after game 1 of the NBA Finals. So can you imagine how things would be if all three are healthy by the time the post season comes around?
The previous season was something that may be disappointing to James and his crew, but seeing them become champions in the first year was a pretty daunting task. The team had to go through chemistry issues throughout.
And now, a year after, the same guys are back and expectedly used to each other. So is it any wonder why James is pretty much upbeat about the coming season?
The ups and downs are forgettable but the fact remains that the coming season could work in their favor. With an intact lineup, gone are the questions of chemistry within the ranks. As far as the Eastern Conference is concerned, the Cavs are heavy favorites. But how do they size up against the Western Conference teams?
Apparently all eyes will be on the Golden State Warriors once more and the retooled San Antonio Spurs. A yardstick of the improvement that the Cavs have had will be known when they face both teams in the regular season.
So will the Cavs be waiting in the NBA Finals? Compared to last year, it would be a shocker not to see them up there once more.
