LeBron James news: Would James consider owning an NBA franchise?

LeBron James is obviously one of the biggest earners in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and one cannot help but compare that aspect as well to the NBA's all-time great, Michael Jordan.

On the floor, Jordan has practically achieved it all. And with that in mind, Jordan eventually went as far as investing in an NBA team of his own.

Great as he may have been during his playing days, Jordan hasn't exactly pushed the right buttons as far as running an NBA team is concerned. Apparently, the two are largely different and with his annual earnings, there is a possibility that James could venture out on such when his playing days are over.

Right now, James bares that such are not in his plans, although the thought is in his mind. With the love he has shown for the sport, it will not be surprising to find James eventually becoming a part-owner like "His Airness," but all that could be years away.

For the sake of argument, it will be interesting where James would invest in if ever it comes to that point. It is likely that he would dip his hands via minority stake, but the question is where.

The Cleveland Cavaliers could be one of them, although the Miami Heat could also be a possibility. It could all boil down to what is on the table for James when he is done playing in the NBA and how deep he plans to get involved in such.

While all that is seen to happen, a lot of interest will also be in how he would be able to help and manage an NBA team at that point. Jordan is up there but hasn't really shown much mileage, so it will be interesting if James can do better than his idol.

If his fiery nature on his teammate lately is any indication, there is potential that James could be successful in that role, although it will depend on the team he could be investing in as well the players who could be playing under him.
