'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date news: Game to be released after 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8'; PS4-exclusive rumors debunked

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is still one of the most anticipated games for the latest consoles, and as such a lot of fans are still waiting for its official release. This is despite the fact that the game's popularity has slightly decreased due to a slew of spin-offs put out just to bank on the franchise's popularity.

According to Game N Guide, the recently concluded Tokyo Game Show 2016 event did not feature "Kingdom Hearts 3," much to the disappointment of countless fans still waiting for the game.

Square Enix opted to feature their upcoming game "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD" instead. Apparently, the company has been doing a lot of remastering and remaking of previous titles recently, such as their upcoming "Final Fantasy 7 Remake."

Regardless, with "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" to be released in January 2017, it seems that it won't be long until the third official installment of the game franchise "Kingdom Hearts" is released.

Some fans are speculating that the release of the "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD" game will serve as a means of introducing "Kingdom Hearts 3." If this is the case, then it will not be long now until the highly-anticipated game gets a definite release date announcement from Square Enix. After all, giving an introductory game for something that will not come out soon does not make sense, so this rumor is not without credit.

Meanwhile, Yibada reports that there had been some rumors about the game getting a PC version as well. The reason behind these rumors is that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is allegedly going to be a PS4-exclusive.

Furthermore, after the game's listing disappeared from the Japanese Xbox Store, the rumor seemed to gain more traction. However, with its listing back in the store, Xbox One fans can now rejoice because it looks like "Kingdom Hearts 3" will not be a PS4-exclusive title after all.
