Kell Brook vs Timothy Bradley fight rumors 2015: Bout happening this October?

Kell Brook may be making his return to the ring this coming October if talks between his camp and Top Rank concerning Timothy Bradley Jr. goes well.

Brook's original choice is, of course, Amir Khan but it seems that the southpaw fighter is not interested in facing Brook for now, saying that he needs to build on his name before Khan even considers him as a possible opponent.

From the looks of it, Brook is doing just that.

With Khan becoming an unrealistic opponent, a report from the Daily Mail reveals that Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum held talks during the weekend for a possible welterweight unification bout. The fight might take place in Sheffield in England and the target date is by the end of October.

According to Hearn, Brook is also considering other boxers like Ruslan Provodnikov and Diego Chavez. But of all the names, Kell reportedly prefers to face off against Desert Storm.

But the thing is Bradley is still waiting for his belt. His last opponent Jesse Vargas has filed an appeal with the World Boxing Organization (WBO) concerning his last fight, something that ended in controversial fashion.

To recall, Vargas seemed to have hurt Bradley in the dying seconds of the final round but was stopped from doing further damage when Pat Russell stepped in. Russell claims that he mistook the 10-second clapper as the final bell.

The WBO had already ruled that the fight results would remain but the Vargas camp filed an appeal last month. With the appeal, Bradley's status to official WBO welterweight full title holder remains hanging.

The results of the appeal will hopefully be settled soon so that Brook and Bradley can iron out the negotiations for a possible October fight. But from the looks of it and at the rate that talks are going, the fight should be made official soon.

A win by Kell Brook could finally set the stage for a possible Khan vs. Brook fight in 2016, assuming that the Briton doesn't have other opponents in mind.

But the fight is equally important to Bradley as well as he tries to erase the stigma of another controversial victory. His first controversial win came against Manny Pacquiao in 2012, a split decision that drew a howl.

Pacquiao and Bradley would meet again in 2014 with the Filipino fighter winning via unanimous decision.
