'Just Cause 3' release date update: Developer releases story trailer

Just Cause 3 Avalanche Studios

Apparently, the upcoming title "Just Cause 3" is massive enough for its story itself to deserve special focus.

Developer Avalanche Studios has just released the latest footage for its upcoming role-playing, mayhem-generating title. However, instead of the usual video with a mix of different gameplay collage, the trailer highlights the story behind the latest installment in the franchise.

In "Just Cause 3," players take on the role of Rico Rodriguez, the main protagonist of the franchise. However, instead of just creating mayhem and wreaking havoc, there will be a personal mission for the character. This time, according to the Verge, Rodriguez will take on the role of a revolutionary and will try to topple down a regime in his own country, Medici.

Medici is situated in in-game Mediterranean, and the totalitarian way of life in the country is headed by a dictator with an iron hand everywhere in Medici.

The trailer highlights some of what Rodriguez can do in order to take down the dictator. A combination of guerilla warfare and acrobatic stunts are what's in store for players. As also true with previous iterations of the franchise, "Just Cause 3" will also award huge points for actions that will result in spectacular explosions and massive collateral damage.

To help players customize the amount of carnage and mayhem generated in-game, "Just Cause 3" will apparently have a myriad of options, at least for the PC version. According to The Guru of 3D, the game will have custom options in addition to resolution. These options let gamers play with the amount of detail to either enhance the gameplay experience or subdue them if the explosions get to be visually shocking. Custom options include depth of field, water detail, LOD factor, ad shadow quality.

"Just Cause 3" is set to be released on Dec. 1 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
