Fans of "Jurassic World" will be happy to know that the sequel to the hit movie starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard is getting ready to start production soon.

According to a report by ScreenRant, film director JA Bayona — who previously worked on films like "A Monster Calls" — confirmed that they will begin rolling early in 2017. Fans who were expecting production to begin earlier should not be alarmed as the film has some time left before its June 2018 projected release date.

In an interview, Bayona credited the filmmakers who previously worked on the franchise — notably Steven Speilberg, who jumpstarted the successful line of movies, as well as Colin Trevorrow, who worked on the reboot — that spawned the renewed interest in the franchise and ideas for "Jurassic World 2."

"Every story is different and you need to find the depth of every story and try to express it on the screen. The Jurassic World sequel is a more collaborative filmmaker experience, not only with Colin Trevorrow, but also with Steven [Spielberg] and with Frank Marshall. It's their baby as much as it is mine. It's about sharing views and working together to bring the story to life. But, at the same time, the way I face telling a story is to find something very personal. I think there will be plenty of myself also in the film," he said.

In another report, the director explained that the plot will provide some continuity from "Jurassic World" as well as the original franchise. In essence, it will be both a "Jurassic World 2" and a "Jurassic Park 5."

"I think somehow it's both. It's a very good question, and what we're doing is a sequel to Jurassic World, but it's definitely the fifth chapter of a longer saga. It's very interesting. It's always tricky, but you need to find a balance in what people expect to find, and the new stuff you're bringing to the story. And I think the story is looking for a connection between Jurassic World and Jurassic Park -- more than what Jurassic World did," he added.

Bayona also did not close the doors to the possibility of a third movie, and said that audiences should be prepared to be taken to a place they are not expecting.
