John-David Duggar: The Duggar family's hard-working second son

Since there are 19 kids in the family and several additions come every once in a while, it would be quite impossible to keep track of everyone in the large Duggar household all the time.

That is why fans of the hit TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting" have been asking for more updates about the Duggar's second oldest son, John-David. Little is known about him and his twin sister Jana, who are both 24 years old.

The elder Duggar twins are both single, and they are not in any form of courtship with anyone as of the moment.

Here are several basic facts about John-David Duggar.

Occupations, business, and achievements

John David is a busy guy. He volunteers as a police officer and a firefighter; he's a sworn-in constable of Washington County, Arkansas; and he has his own business called Duggar Towing. He is also in the process of getting his pilot license soon.

Role in the Duggar household

Viewers know that the elder siblings are tasked by their parents to take care of the younger ones, and John-David is doing a good job as a reliable older brother. He was particularly keeping an eye on his sister Jessa after her suitor, Ben Seewald (who eventually became her fiancé),  moved in with the family during their courtship period.

Relationship status

John-David says that he is not seeing any woman at the moment. He was earlier linked to Erin Bates, but the rumors about their possible courtship stopped after Erin got married to another man early this year.

However, there are rumors that surfaced in August saying that he is in a pre-courtship stage with an unnamed woman affiliated with IBLP, after they were seen sitting beside each other during one of the family's book signing event for "Growing Up Duggar."

What his mom thinks of him

Michelle Duggar may have 19 children, but she sure knows her kids well. She said that her second eldest son is ready for a lifetime commitment soon.

In the family's official blog, Michelle shared, "Our son John David has got a job and a home. He's leasing that home out as rental income and putting the money aside. He's also getting his pilot license right now and he's been a fireman and a police officer, and now he's a constable. So he's definitely at that place in life where he's ready to be a husband and a provider and he would be open to courting a young lady if he felt she would be the one for him."

John-David and the rest of the Duggars are featured in TLC's "19 Kids & Counting," which airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m.
