Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) will hear a bombshell of a family secret when the hit comedy series "Jane the Virgin" returns after its extended winter break.

In "Chapter Thirty-One," the promo shows that Rogelio's mother extraordinaire will return to shake things up for the De La Vega-Villanueva clan. Liliana (Rita Moreno) pays them a visit to see her great-grandson Mateo for the first time. Her arrival, though, will not be greeted with cheers, as she comes bearing a shocking revelation to everyone.

When Jane checks on her "Glam-ma" and Mateo, a routine "how are you doing" question leads to a not-so-conventional answer. Instead of saying she is doing fine as always, Liliana reveals that her husband is gay and he left her for a man. The secret she has been keeping for a long time is finally revealed, and the reactions of the members of the family are priceless. While Jane is clearly in shock, it is Rogelio who cannot seem to absorb what his mother said.

In the clip, he and the whole family are seen gathered at the dinner table. As he is saying grace, Rogelio appears to having difficulty concentrating. His father's preference keeps on entering his mind, that even his prayers contain references to him being gay. When he says the part of God blessing all kinds of people, like men who love men, everyone stares at him as if unable to believe what he said.

Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) is particularly flabbergasted, sarcastically commending Rogelio for being so subtle. Speaking about Xo, Liliana's arrival must be giving her some bad vibes, as the older woman's previous visit was not exactly a happy experience. She and Rogelio broke up the last time the latter's mother was around. Will this holiday be the same?

"Jane the Virgin" will return on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
