Legions of fans who are eagerly waiting for a slew of new Apple devices may get their wishes soon.

According to a report from online media site BuzzFeed, sources familiar with Apple's plans have said that the Cupertino-based company is up to something to usher in the fall season. The insiders also said that Apple is expected to prepare an announcement during the second week of next month, since this was also the same period that Apple hosted an event last year. It was also said that the company will probably make the presentation on Sept. 7 at the earliest, and Sept. 9 at the latest.

Although the timeframe is still unconfirmed, it is more than likely that Apple will push through with the second-week announcement, since the dates will follow close to the heels of another annual tech trade show, the IFA. The schedule for this year's IFA convention is on Sept. 4-9 in Berlin.

For the Apple event, one of the most expected unveilings is that of the successor to the current iPhone lineup. Although Apple has yet to comment on whether the company is updating the lineup with either a 6s and iPhone 6s Plus or the much-hyped iPhone 7, most rumors speculate that Apple will amp up the iPhone specs-wise since the company already used the iPhone 6 specs to revive the iPod lineup.

Aside from an updated design, it is also said that the new iPhone will come with a much-faster A9 processor, improved Force Touch display, and upgraded LTE and interface.

In addition to launching the new iPhones, it is also speculated that Apple will unveil a new product for its iPad lineup as well as the updated Apple TV, which was originally scheduled to come out at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
