Apple's much awaited iPad Pro is finally making its way into the market, all 12.9 inches of it.

For a starting price of $799, folks who have been longing to get one can do so.

The iPad Pro is pegged to give the Microsoft Surface Book some competition since it can be technically converted into a laptop as well. But to do that, folks will have to separately purchase the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil. This means that one will have to shell out an additional $99 for the keyboard and $169 for the Apple Pencil.

Adding up the cost of the iPad Pro and the accessories in mention, it all comes to a grand total of $1,067. That makes it still cheaper when compared to the Microsoft Surface Book which retails for a cool $1,499.

But before making that decision, it may be wise to note several things tied up with the iPad Pro. The most crucial one is perhaps the operating system (OS)

Compared to the traditional MacBook which runs on OS X, the iPad Pro still uses iOS. So with that in tow, it begs to ask the question on how productive the iPad Pro could be when compared to the Microsoft Surface Book.

With computing in mind, it doesn't necessarily make the iPad Pro a suitable solution for the ones looking for the usual productivity from mobile devices.

Hence, the Microsoft Surface Pro seems to be the one that caters to the computing needs of folks for now, although give the Apple folks some time to figure that one out.

Could the iPad Pro change the iOS to OS X? Or will the next iOS releases offer some changes that draws it close to actual computing use?

Pegged to replace the MacBook line someday, it remains to be seen if the iPad Pro can indeed carry out the usual stuff that Apple laptops are able to do.
