Apple is planning a stand-alone event in March to showcase its upcoming products. However, aside from the unveiling, the release dates for each product lineup are still unclear.
New reports have surfaced that says at least two new Apple products will become available days after being unveiled.
According to 9to5Mac, the new iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 will immediately go on sale after their March 15 unveiling. Citing unnamed sources, the industry follower said that after the Cupertino-based company unveils these products next month, the new iPhone and iPad additions may be seen on online stores and different retailers as early as March 18.
Should this detail be proven true, it will be a new marketing strategy for Apple. Since there would just be days between the launch and release of the new Apple products, this means that there will be no pre-order period, or only a short one if there will be one. This dovetails with reports of Apple taking new directions with its products, including the way the tech giant has positioned its new Apple devices. Instead of a new iPhone, the iPhone 5se is said to be a special edition of the iPhone 5 (hence the "se" tag), instead of the expected follow-up to the iPhone 6 lineup. The new iPhone is said to go back to the original iPhone's roots, having a smaller 4-inch display.
Meanwhile, the iPad Air 3 is rumored to have been one of the original releases late last year, but it had to give way to the iPad Pro.
As for the other Apple devices to come out this year, Know Your Mobile said that the much-expected Apple Watch 2 will be released in the latter part of 2016. However, a refreshed Apple Watch, with new bands, sensors, and features, will be unveiled next month. Meanwhile, the iPhone 7 lineup is also expected to come out in the latter months, possibly before the holidays.
