iOS 9.1 update causing Touch ID problems for select users

The iOS 9.1 seems to have another bug to add to its list, with reports that Touch ID for the iPhone and the iPad have reportedly malfunctioned once users update to the latest iOS update.

After hearing about the issue tied up with hanging upon upgrade and connectivity-related issues, it seems that the update also messes up the Touch ID system either completely or causes delay.

The thing is the said issue doesn't seem to affect all Apple owners who have the iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and the iPad Air 2. The whole issue does sound strange, particularly because the claims are not in general but coming from a select few.

Some claim that their Touch ID has completely gone on the blink while others would end up using the manual input of their pass code instead.

Others experienced the problem after restarting after the iOS 9.1 update, while others found it worse when entering in low power mode where the features has allegedly stopped working.

A hard reset somehow resolves the matter but only temporarily. After continued use, the Touch ID problem crops again. Downgrading would have been a neat alternative but this recourse is apparently no longer available since Apple has stopped coding the iOS 9.0.2.

This becomes the second occurrence of the Touch ID being affected, the first one of which happened during the iOS 8.0.1. The issue back then was resolved but only when the iOS 8.3 update came out.

Right now, Apple is beta testing iOS 9.2 but there is no word yet if a possible fix to address the Touch ID problem is included.

Forbes reports that they have been in constant contact with Apple company representatives in light of the growing complaints tied up with the Touch ID issue but have failed to get a comment. To date, Apple has yet to issue a statement or better yet — a fix for the problem plaguing select Apple users which seem to be increasing in number.
