iOS 10 beta release date: developers get access to second beta seed

Apple's upcoming mobile operating system, iOS 10, is expected to arrive in September. Apple/iOS 10

Apple recently released the second beta seed of its upcoming iOS 10. The mobile OS was first announced during the World Wide Developers Conference 2016, which happened last month.

iOS 10 is a major iOS update and is said to host a ton of new features and many design tweeks. These include a new Lock screen, which will now come with the 3D-Touch feature, a revamped Control Center, easier access to the camera and a new widget screen, MacRumors reported.

There is also a new Home app, and redesigned Maps and Apple Music, which now supports Dynamic Type. An Organ Donation app is now included, which makes organ donation easier. A new Low Quality Image Mode is also available in the Messages settings.

AppleInsider added that the second beta now includes an unencrypted 32-bit bootloader, which opens up more of the mobile OS's components to developers. Its RAM Disc is still unencrypted, just like the first beta release. Experts are saying that Apple has loosen up its approach in its software security, opening up some, instead of locking it away.  The result, as speculated, will minimize unnecessary probing which may weaken the program's integrity, and more eyes will be able to see and report bugs that have escaped the company.

Additionally, the report also mentioned that opening up the kernel cache will result in a more optimized system since it does not contain any important information.

iMessages was also overhauled, giving its users a ton of ways to reply or send a message. A few are new bubble designs, invisible ink options, full screen celebration animations, predictive emojis and stickers.

9to5Mac mentioned that  Apple News can now be hidden, Mail features a new filter icon instead of funnel, App Store Split View now works on the iPad, Feedback app is added, long pressing the "All Tabs" button in Safari yields "New Tab" option, parked location can now be seen in Maps app settings and a few more.

iOS 10 is expected to be released to the public in September.
