HTC has a lot of models to choose from via its One series, but for the ones in search of a cheaper one to get, there is one now available but only in Taiwan for now.

Now, HTC followers are bound to be familiar with the HTC One M9 but in this case, a lower variant in the HTC One M9s is available.

The HTC One M9s is touted as a budget phone that comes with decent specs. Such includes a 5-inch full HD LCD display, a MediaTek Helio X10 chipset backed with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.

If the 16 GB storage is not enough, one can make use of the expandable storage feature via microSD which can support up to 2 TB.

Other features worth noting include a 13-megapixel main camera, a 4-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,840 mAh battery. It comes with an all-metal unibody, measuring 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.6 millimeters while weighing only 158 grams.

All the usual elements one would find in mobile phones these days are available as well, such as connectivity (2G, 3G and LTE), Bluetooth WiFi, and Global Positioning System (GPS).

Some of the apparent downgrades include the processor, supporting RAM, and main camera. There is no word on what Android operating system (OS) it will be carrying, although it may likely be the same as the one used in HTC One M9 — Android 5.0 Lollipop.

As mentioned earlier, the device will be made available only in Taiwan for now. Pre-orders have started with the HTC One M9s retailing for about $390, not a bad price to consider for people looking for a decent startup mobile device.

For now, there is no word on when and if the HTC One M9s will be made available globally. You can check it out via the HTC Taiwan website.
