Fans of Netflix's "House of Cards" were given an early present, as series creator, Beau Willimon shared a picture via Twitterproving the show is currently filming season three.

The creator is careful not to divulge any information about the plot of the show's next chapter, and he is very guarded about spilling any spoilers. That is why despite sharing pictures on social media, no clues about the season's plot are given.

When Willimon had a recent meet-up with "Breaking Bad's" Vince Gilligan, he talked about how he and his team of writers managed to come up with the concept for the new season. Willimon said it took seven months to pen a story that would air for "13 hours," and "another seven months to film it."

He even shared why the team needs that much time to conceptualize, execute, and deliver the show.

Willimon said: "The pace at which we work might seem luxurious to a lot of folks at the big broadcast network world, but it feels pretty fast to me. To go much faster than that for me, it would be difficult to create the sort of layered and interwoven narratives that we're after."

He added, "The more time I put into something the better it is, because, for me, writing is a trial and error game. It's banging my head against the wall, either until you break through or the wall breaks your head. And you need the time to make those mistakes so that you can maybe reach the good thing on the other side. And going much faster than we do, I don't know if I would get enough bangs against the wall."

The production of "House of Cards" season three is under way in Maryland, where the first two seasons were filmed. The production reportedly had problems obtaining shooting permits from the state during the past weeks, until the issue was resolved April 25.
