'Homeland' season 5 spoilers: Carrie makes a very difficult decision in episode 11

Carrie picks the greater good in the upcoming episode of "Homeland." Showtime

Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) will have to decide who will live and who will perish in the upcoming episode of the Showtime series "Homeland."

In "Our Man in Damascus," the promo shows the vindicated ex-CIA agent torn in what to choose – Quinn's continued recuperation or finding the location where the jihadists plan to release the chemical bomb in Berlin. It turns out she can only choose one, as the doctor tells her and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) that waking up Quinn would a big mistake. He cautions the two that if they force the patient to come around, there could be massive seizure, cerebral hemorrhage, and even death.

From how it looks like in the video, Berlin's situation has become dire and Carrie will pick the greater good. Viewers will see Quinn being forcefully roused from his healing sleep, while Carrie demands to know the jihadist's target site. It is unsure whether she gets a clear answer, though, as the next moment Quinn is shown, he is spewing blood. The doctor's prognosis is spot on, as the patient demonstrates all signs of crashing. While this is happening, the shot switches to armed men storming into the hospital and it appears that their target is Quinn.

Meanwhile, the rest of the clip shows the jihadists preparing the attack at the Berlin train station. Saul is looking horrified at something and Allison (Miranda Otto) is holding a gun. Could it be that the disgraced CIA Berlin chief has found a way to escape and then tracked where Saul is? Last episode, they had a heated argument while Saul was interrogating her. Dar (F. Murray Abraham) was still having doubts as to whether Allison indeed committed treason by fraternizing with Ivan (Mark Ivanir) and the Russians. Their talk ended with Saul choking Allison until agents forced him off her and escorted him outside.

"Homeland" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
