'Homeland' season 5 spoilers: Carrie faces a new menace in episode 10 'New Normal'

Carrie will be targeted by a new foe in the upcoming episode of "Homeland." Showtime

Just as if Carrie (Claire Danes) has not had enough threats in her life, a new one will emerge to test her mettle once again in the upcoming episode of the hit Showtime series "Homeland."

In "New Normal," the short synopsis reveals that danger will once again follow the former CIA agent after learning the truth about Allison (Miranda Otto). Episode 9 will see Carrie discovering the CIA Berlin Station chief as a double agent. But while she will warn Saul (Mandy Patinkin) about her, the latter appears to doubt her word. If the new menace is not Allison and her scary cohort Krupin (Mark Ivanir), who else wants to kill Carrie? Could it be Otto (Sebastian Koch), who has been looking cagey in the past episode?

Carrie has sent Ahmed's (Darwin Shaw) computer to him so that Numan (Atheer Adel) could unlock it. It was actually the screensaver of the device that triggered something in her memory. It was a picture of the spy in a beach. Carrie was reminded of a similar place that Allison mentioned when they were in Baghdad in 2005. If Carrie was able to make the connection, so will Otto. What will his next move be?

As for Saul, he may have thrown Carrie's accusation against his lover to her face, but he is still being cautious. The agent is not born yesterday, and for sure his great mind is working to process everything. Will he be launching his own investigation to learn the truth? If he does get to confirm that Allison is a double agent, what will he do? Will his love for her overcome the hate he will be feeling because of her betrayal?

Meanwhile, Quinn (Rupert Friend) is getting farther and farther away from his mission in Syria. The agent told Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) back in episode 8 that he got the golden opportunity to talk to the deputy emir. Unfortunately, the jihadists he was helping to cross the border suddenly turned the tables against his plans. Quinn is now on his way to Berlin and it looks like he will be in the middle of a bloody war. Will he survive?

"Homeland" season 5 episode 10 will air on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
