'Hitman' game footage leaks: what to know

While some look to gaming events such as the recently-concluded Comic-Con in San Diego for their fill of gaming news and updates, others have been speculating about upcoming titles, such as the much-hyped new "Hitman" game because of a spate of leaks and unconfirmed reports.

In the latest round off the rumor mill, it seems that a footage of the closed alpha test of the game, specifically a mission set in the Paris Fashion Show, has been leaked online.

The footage shows Agent 47 trying to gain access to the show and do a contract kill inside the premises. From the look of things, it seems that the upcoming "Hitman" title will still remain as a stealth, action-and-consequence platformer, with the main protagonist trying to take on different disguises to get near a target and do a contract assassination with as little fuss as possible, and without drawing unwanted attention while trying to reach the target, assassinating them, and leaving the premises. The footage also showed that Agent 47 will still be able to plan and use the environment to his advantage, such as picking up things to get guards' attentions, or disabling a power generator to leave enemies in the dark.

Meanwhile, while leaked footages make their way online, developer IO has announced that the upcoming "Hitman" title will not go into early access. Instead, the title will be released in complete episodes, with the first one to be launched in December this year. The title's whole episodes list is expected to be completed by next year.

The new "Hitman" game will be released on Dec. 8 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. However, the first launch will be in digital format, and it remains to be seen if the title will have physical copies as well.
