Toylogic announced earlier this week that their free-to-play online multiplayer game "Happy Wars" will be officially offered for Xbox One on April 24.
The action game, initially launched in 2012, is the very first free-to-play offering meant to be played on Xbox consoles. It was earlier planned to be a cross-platform play for both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One, but the plan did not push through and was dropped by Toylogic from their plans last year.
"Happy Wars" is known as a class-based multiplayer online battle arena that features a clash between two teams composed of up to 15 players per side as they try to infiltrate the castle of their opponent. Players of the game can choose to become one of the three available classes, including the mage, the warrior, as well as the cleric. Subclasses are available as well, including the Warrior-type Berserker, the Mage-type Zephyr, as well as the Cleric-type engineer.
The title is also one of the most downloaded free games in Xbox Live Marketplace, having reached a total of 10 million copies downloaded since its release.
Before Toylogic announced the availability of the Xbox One version of the game on Tuesday, several players have spotted that the title went live accidentally from the Xbox Store early this month, but it was also removed from the list immediately.
Those who have played the Xbox 360 edition of the game are expecting to see all their progress data to be transferred to the new-gen game console edition. The Xbox One version is likely to come out with better lighting and graphics, as well as several special effects. It is also reportedly coming out with a split-screen feature that could let at least four people to play using a single console.
