'Halo 6' release date news: Game reportedly not exclusive to Xbox

"Halo 6" is expected to be released to both the Xbox One and PC. 343 Industries

Ever since the third installment to the "Halo" series arrived, the much-beloved game has been made exclusive to the Xbox One console. However, this time, rumors suggest that it will finally be released for both Xbox and PC. This is following the news that Microsoft declared all of their games starting this year will be available on both the PC and Xbox One platforms. According to Ecumenical News, this was further proven by the new "Fable Legends," which was supposed to only be exclusive to the Xbox One. This mandate, dubbed "Project Helix", is affecting most of Microsoft's devices. MSPowerUser also suggests that any new titles from Microsoft will be made available on the new console that is in development, codenamed "Scorpio".

According to a report by Counsel Heal, those eager for news on "Halo 6" might get their confirmation soon. Nobody has given any firm news on this installment so far, since the announcement last year from the development team when they mentioned that it was in pipeline. The development director of 343 Industries, Frank O'Connor, has already announced that their company will focus on making their upcoming games compatible on Windows 10. They have also comfirmed bringing their new title "Halo Wars 2" to both the Xbox One and PC.

Ecumenical News stated that Microsoft has not given any concrete or solid information on any of the release dates yet, and that better news might be made available on these consoles after the E3 event rolls out this June 14. For now, PC and Xbox gamers have to be content with the new game update for "Halo 5: Guardians," which is titled "Hog Wild". This new update, which was released on May 31, features new armor sets, Warthogs, and a brand new hybrid weapon scope.
