Steam's parent company — Valve — is an avid supporter of Virtual Reality gaming. The company offers a lot of VR games on the Steam Store, and Valve even started selling their very own VR headset — called the HTC Vive — earlier this year. However, it seems that the company is not yet content with their current VR setup, and as such, they might take it a level higher this time and release a VR version for one of their biggest game series.

According to Game Rant, some news outlets say that the "Half-Life VR" is currently in development, much to the delight of fans. The source of this leak comes from one of Valve's VR apps called "Destinations," which allow players to explore both real and virtual places with friends. It might not be much of a game, but it is regularly updated.

What's significant is that in the game's recent update, released back in Sept. 26, featured some sort of code within the update's files. It refers to something called "HL: VR," and it has strings that refer to weapons as well as VR controller movements and other unspecified features that nonetheless will be part of a final game.

Also, according to the Digital Spy, another game from Steam, "DotA 2," featured lines of code that possibly do not belong to the game in its most recent update. It is simply a code for replicating broken glass, and at the surface, it does not seem to mean much, but after delving deeper into it, it stands out like a sore thumb in between the layers of other codes for the game.

Lastly, the same report states that some other codes are appearing in other places, but there is still no guarantee as to whether or not "HLVR" will have anything to do with a possible "Half-Life: VR" game.
