'Half-Life 3' release date news: Game still unconfirmed; Possible leak may point to a development

 Steam

"Half-Life 3" has been subject to a lot of rumors ever since players finished playing its predecessor, "Half-Life 2."

According to the Morning Ledger, countless memes have already been made as to whether or not "Half-Life 3" is confirmed. But now, is it possible for the game to be finally be confirmed? After all, it's been six years since people last heard anything about it officially, so a lot of players are losing hope.

Add to that the fact that there was no announcement about the game at the E3 2016, which would have been the best place for Valve to finally give updates on "Half-Life 3," and the possibility of it ever getting released goes lower in each passing year. It can be plainly seen that there are no movements in terms of its game development, but according to Yibada, Gabe Newell, Valve CEO, didn't totally dismiss the possibility of a "Half-Life 3" game.

However, if ever the game will push through, the biggest hurdle they will have to encounter is to come up with a decent script. Furthermore, Newell also stated that there are a lot of people inside Valve showing interest in making the game. With this, it's still up to a unanimous decision on whether or not "Half-Life 3" will be developed in the near future.

If ever, one of the small shreds of hope players hold on to is the alleged leak of Valve's next game title. An unknown user from Pastebin states that he was able to dig up this information, that "Half-Life 2 Episode 3" has been cancelled and that this prior project will now be turned into a full-blown sequel, "Half-Life 3."

In any case, seeing "Half-Life 3" in VR by 2018 would be perfect, considering the genre of the game, augmented by the fact that the game will celebrate its 20th anniversary by that time.
