While the fate of "Grimm" is uncertain after season 6, it is expected that the show will pull out all the stops when it returns for its alleged final season.

In a tweet, lead star David Guintoli — who plays Nick Burkhardt — seemed to confirm the news, IBTimes reported.

"Season 6 premieres Jan 6th. Grimm's Final Season. Will we go out with a group sob?? Probs. You have been the most splendid fans. See you in January. Love you all!"

Reggie Lee — who plays Sergeant Wu in the series — also expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming fan support for its entire run. He said he will miss their creativity in coming up with words like #wutastic, a play on his character's name.

"Will truly miss this #wutastic family that causes one to make up words like #wutastic," posted Lee on his own Twitter account.

Rumors initially circulated that season 6 will be the show's last after its normal season order of 22 episodes has been slashed to only 13 episodes for this season. The reported firing of actress Elizabeth Tulloch — who plays the character Juliette/Eve — also did not seem like a good sign for the show.

According to a report by Game and Guide, the new season will pick up from the season 5 finale where Conrad Bonaparte — played by Shaun Toub — was killed by Portland Mayor Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz). Season 6 is expected to revolve around the aftermath of the event. The upcoming sixth season of "Grimm" will also explore the characters of Nick and Sean.

The titles for the first five episodes have also been revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con. The first episode is entitled "Fugitive," while the second episode will be called "Trust Me Knot." Episodes 3 to 6 will be entitled "Oh Captain, My Captain," "El Cuegle," and the "Seven Year Itch."

"Grimm" returns for its final season on NBC on Friday, January 6, 2017.
