A hot new intern is set to make hearts palpitate in the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital when the long-running medical drama series returns after the winter break.
According to Soap Shows, ABC has tapped Scott Elrod to join the cast for the twelfth installment. "The Young and the Restless" star will reportedly don some scrubs and stroll the busy hallways of the hospital trying to assist the good doctors of the series. It is still unclear, though, when Elrod's character will be appearing on the show. The website reports that this is not the first time the actor will guest star in Shondaland. He has already shot a cameo role in one of the episodes of "How to Get Away with Murder."
Meanwhile, the Internet is abuzz with Jessica Capshaw's pregnancy news. The actress, who plays Dr. Arizona Robins in the series, has just announced that she is expecting their fourth child. Design & Trend reports that fans have been wondering if her condition will be incorporated in the storyline. Arizona is currently single after separating with ex-wife Callie (Sara Ramirez). Callie, for her part, has hooked up with the new doctor Penny (Samantha Sloyan).
If her pregnancy will be included in the story, fans can expect that Arizona will be getting a new love interest. It is also likely that she will get knocked up in one of her lonely, drunken states by some hot guy. While Arizona looks happy with Callie's new relationship, she may still not be over her yet. Calzona shippers are hoping they will end up together, even if Callie does look like she already moved on. Others think that the pregnancy will not be an issue, as the season could be wrapping up before Capshaw's bump becomes noticeable. If it does become obvious, the actress can cover it up with her bulky lab coat.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 will return on Feb. 11, 2016 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
