As far as active lifestyle fans are concerned, one of the best action cams that can take the grind and duress of capturing dynamic images and videos is a GoPro camera. Most fans are already anticipating the release of the successor to the successful Hero 4 series, but it seems that those wishing to upgrade their GoPros would have to wait a little bit longer.

According to the reports, the next in line GoPro Hero 5's scheduled roll out had been pushed back to next year. While its original release is supposed to be by October this year, outing the Hero 5 means that users who have originally thought of buying a Hero 4 will instead opt for the newer one, since it is already reported that the Hero 5 will cost much less than its predecessor with around $400-$500 tag price.

Although it is expected that the upcoming Hero upgrade will be more budget-friendly than its predecessor, this doesn't mean that the Hero 5 will just be an average update. Its speculated specs boast of a much better lineup than its previous variant.

The Hero 5 is supposed to come out with a smaller footprint than the current Hero 4, making it more compact in terms of design and convenient in usage. In addition, the upcoming GoPro is also reported to record up to 8K videos at Full Ultra HD, double the resolution of the current Hero 4. In addition, setting the Hero 5's recording options to 4K will up its fps to 60, also double the Hero 4's 30 fps capability. Giving the user more freedom in choosing video modes, the Hero 5 will be able to record 1080p at 60 fps, 720p at 100 fps, and 1440p at 30 fps.

Most noted too, among the many features of the Hero 5 is that GoPro will be amping up its power, which would also be at least double the battery capacity of the current Hero 4. This means that even if recording videos in much higher resolution and fps, the Hero 5 can still record and take images for a longer time than its predecessor.
