Heading into the homestretch of 2015, many are keenly awaiting the much hyped Nexus 5 2015 and what it will have to offer.

To recall, there are two variants said to be in the works. One is the version coming from LG while the other is that from Huawei. But it looks like aside from the smartphones expected to come out, Google could be releasing a tablet as well in the rumored Google Nexus 8.

Benchmark tests are seen as the cause of the sudden possibility of a tablet debut, something said to be under testing with GeekBench3 via Phone Arena.

Of course, this is a new rumor so it could or could not come out this year. With regards to specs, it seems the possible yet unconfirmed features include a 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, a shift from the old Snapdragon series.

With regards to the display size, the screen of the alleged Google Nexus 8 will measure about eight inches. There is no word for now on who will be behind the mass production of the said display.

As far as the operating system (OS) is concerned, the one currently in testing reportedly runs on Android 5.1.1 OS. Seeing that the next Android OS (Android M) could be out by the time this device is released, the said tablet may likely be out armed with the latest OS.

Right now, these are just the surface part of rumors so expect more details to follow. That includes speculations on who may be commissioned to manufacture the said tablet. Could it be a toss-up again between LG and Nexus? Or both? Or some other company for that matter?

For now, take everything with a grain of salt since these Google Nexus 8 tablet rumors are still fresh. It may come this year, if there is still time, or the next.
