Sabrina Carpenter has recently released her album "Evolution" and is kicking off a concert tour for her music career, and Rowan Blanchard has also been very busy as she has recently been cast in the latest "A Wrinkle in Time" movie. Will both actresses have enough time left to work on a fifth season of Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World?"

The two young stars play Maya and Riley, respectively, who are the lead characters in Disney Channel's coming of age series. The news broke about Blanchard's casting when Buzzfeed posted on its Instagram account a banner featuring the  actors that have been cast in director Ava DuVernay's adaptation of the 1963 novel by Madeline D'Engle.

Blanchard was shown in the line up along with Storm Reid (who will play lead character Meg), Oprah Winfrey, Mindy Kaling, and Reese Witherspoon. In Blanchard's repost, she used the caption "I feel this is an appropriate time to use #Blessed."

With filming set to commence soon and her co-star Sabrina Carpenter busy with her music, the lack of confirmation from the network about a renewal for season 5 continues to worry fans of the show. It has been rumored that Disney is not keen on picking up the series for a fifth season after Maya and Riley graduate from high school in season 4.

It has also been said that Disney is not comfortable with exploring college life as this is already beyond their target market. Fans have since launched an online petition for Freeform to pick up the show since the network's target is a match for a possible college storyline for the two girls.

It has been reported that should the series continue, Maya will have two possible love interests – her long time crush Jake (Joshua Matthews), who is a couple of years older than her, and Zay (Amir Mitchell-Townes), who has been her friend from the beginning.
