'Game of Thrones' season 7 spoilers: Gendry to return; Euron and Cersei to join forces?

Game of Thrones' Gendry HBO

Many events have happened in Westeros after Gendry (Joe Dempsie) — the only son of Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy) left alive — was aided by Ser Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham). Ser Davos helped Robert's last remaining heir flee across the Narrow Sea to escape the clutches of Melisandre (Carice van Houten).

However, after a long break, it would seem that fans of the show will finally learn what happened to the boy as actor Dempsie was recently spotted at the Belfast airport, presumably to shoot for the seventh season of "Game of Thrones," The Week reported.

The series is expected to return to Belfast, where they also shot for the last season during the siege of Riverrun.

Could this mean that Gendry would be yet another contender for the Iron Throne seeing as he is the only character in the series who has Baratheon blood?

While early reports hint that Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek) will be worse than villain Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), the matter of his alliances is expected to be discussed in the upcoming season. While he initially planned to sail to Mereen to forge an alliance with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), he was beaten to it his by his niece Yara (Gemma Whelan) and nephew Theon (Alfie Allen), who sealed a partnership with the Mother of Dragons before the close of the last season.

According to the fan site Watchers of the Wall, rumors are rife that the ruthless new ruler of the Ironborns is teaming up with Queen Cersei (Lena Headey), who, in the last season, single-handedly eliminated all of her enemies in King's Landing with one brilliant maneuver.

Euron is also expected to take out at least one Sand Snake as the group will allegedly attack Cersei next season to avenge the death of Prince Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal), their father.

Season 7, however, promises to be heartbreaking as Sophie Turner — the actress who plays Sansa Stark — hinted that not everyone will survive the next season.

"We've got one more season... well, not all of us," she said.
