'Five Nights at Freddy's World' news: New Scott Cawthon game to be released next year

Game developer Scott Cawthon is bringing everyone's favorite animatronics from his hit horror video game series "Five Nights at Freddy's" to a whole new world. He is working on a brand new game titled "Five Night's At Freddy's World," wherein Freddy and his friends will be brought together in a completely different setup.

"I wanted to use these characters in a new and fun way because they are so near and dear to my heart, and I was excited to work on a type of game that I hadn't made in a long time," Cawthon wrote in a post on the Steam Community

Cawthon clarified two things in the same Steam post. First, there won't be a "Five Nights at Freddy's 5," which was what fans initially assumed when he first announced that a new game is coming. Second, the title he is currently working on "will not be a horror game" but a role playing game.

He explained that in "FNAF World," players will "create a party" with the use of a slew of characters from the sprawling world of Freddy. There will be a lot to choose from including the classic ones, withered, toy, phantom and the nightmare versions.

Cawthon posted a teaser for the upcoming game in which he assembled every character in the indie point-and-click survival series fans can think of. Instead of a dark, brooding background, the characters are smiling and waving in front of a sunshiny backdrop.

In the image, he also revealed that the game will be released next year. Cawthon admitted he planned to break the news about the new title by Halloween but the excitement and the confusion stirred by it urged him to spill the beans early.

The game creator will release a demo for the game, but its date of availability has not been set yet. He, however, announced that "Five Nights at Freddy's World" will be released for PC, Android and iOS in 2016.
