Square Enix has finally revealed that their "Final Fantasy XV" game is now gold and the final addition to the long-awaited title is some new downloadable content (DLC) that players can use in order to get online and have a four-player multiplayer mode called "Comrades." The title is considered to be the first online multiplayer mode for a non-MMO "Final Fantasy" game.

According to Game N Guide, the "Comrades" DLC mode will only be available through the use of the game's Season Pass, which costs around $25. The director of the DLC — Haruyoshi Sawatari — said that the online multiplayer expansion pack will enable the players to play as all of the four core characters: Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto.

However, sadly it is predicted that the "Comrades" DLC will deviate from the original "Final Fantasy XV" campaign, as explained by Sawatari after being interviewed by Game Spot. After all, he said that the gameplay experiences for the "Final Fantasy XV" game will not necessarily apply to all of the game modes.

This DLC, however, will not be available for quite a while, as it will be released after three "Expansion" games, which will feature three NPCs who will just assist Noctis throughout the main campaign. The characters are the aforementioned Gladiolus, Ignis, and Prompto. The players will have a chance to command each individual character in order for players to experience their unique styles of fighting.

As such, with the so-called episodes of the "Final Fantasy XV," fans will now be able to get to the previously uncharted areas, and possibly even obtain some of the weapons that are not available in the main game. Currently, the season pass order implies that the first episode — which features Gladiolus — will be released during the holiday season. With this, players need only to wait for more updates about the DLC.
