The Electronics Entertainment Expo has evolved from being a breakaway convention from the CES to being one of the biggest gaming trade shows to date. What can fans expect during this year's E3?

According to Tech Radar, one of the most anticipated presentations this year will be Nintendo's. The gaming industry giant has already confirmed that their new system, the NX, is in the works with a scheduled 2017 appearance. Furthermore, Nintendo has also already revealed that one of the launching titles for the NX is the new "Legend of Zelda" game, and since the title game will also launch for the Wii U, some hardcore fans are expecting the game to appear this June.

As for the NX, details are still unclear and observers do not even know if the device itself will be a console or a handheld device or a combination of the two. Hence, it is still regarded as the "NX system." Industry followers hope that Nintendo will provide more details.

Meanwhile, speculations also suggest that Microsoft and Sony are planning some major reveals of their hardware and software products. Microsoft has already announced that its Xbox division will be present at the E3, and while the presentation list is not specific, fans are expecting to see the rumored upgrade to the Xbox One console. The same can be said of Sony's PlayStation bureau, as speculations about the PS4.5 or PS4K have already circulated online.

As for other games, the annual E3 is a showcase of upcoming major titles, and the E3 is no exception. Fans expect some demo and hands-on versions of major games like "Final Fantasy XV," "Mass Effect: Andromeda," "Gears of War 4," and "No Man's Sky." "No Man's Sky" is one of the most expected games at this year's E3, since a showcase demo will be one big advantage for its scheduled mid-June release.

The E3 will be held on June 14 to 16. There are several "pre-E3" events that start on June 12.
