Verizon and Motorola have already confirmed that there will be a press event on Oct. 27 where the two companies will be presenting their latest flagship collaborations. However, it seems that eager fans really want an early glimpse of the new smartphones and have scoured online for teasers and leaks.
In the latest round of leaked images, industry follower Phone Arena reports that an avid follower sent the publication Verizon promotional materials for the new Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2. Allegedly, these are the same promo materials that will be used for the Oct. 27 event.
In the leaks, most of the rumors about the upcoming new flagships were confirmed. The upcoming iteration for the Droid Turbo will have a 5.4-inch screen with an astounding 1440 x 2560 resolution. Meanwhile, it was also confirmed that the Droid Turbo 2 will come with an octa-core, 2-GHz Snapdragon 810 processor. Although the RAM was not mentioned, it was rumored that the new Verizon-exclusive flagship will come with at least 3 GB of RAM.
The promo images also listed at least two variations of the device, 32- and 64-GB versions. Both models will be expandable, for up to 2 TB, via microSD.
In addition, one of the most noted features of the Droid Turbo lineup was also listed. Apparently, the Droid Turbo 2 will retain its long-life, quick-charge feature. Included in the package is a 25W charger that will allegedly give the new Droid Turbo 13 hours of battery life after charging the device for at least 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, the new Droid Maxx 2 was also confirmed to be coming out with a slightly larger 5.5-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution. Under the hood, the new Maxx iteration will be run on an octa-core Snapdragon 617 chipset, and will come with 16 GB of storage. The storage will be expandable for up to 128 GB via microSD.
Verizon and Motorola will unveil both flagships on Oct. 27. Previously, Verizon teased fans with a short teaser video via a tweet.
