'Destiny: The Taken King' DLC to introduce new subclasses: Nightstalker, Stormcaller, Sunbreaker

 Destiny website

For futuristic shooter "Destiny," there are three major character classes: Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans. Each of the three have two subclasses for different elemental powers. However, the game has three elements, and part of the new content for the game will add the missing elemental-based subclass for each.

Already confirmed to be coming on Sept. 15, the new "The Taken King" expansion promises to bring new content in terms of design and gameplay. One feature that would definitely make an upgrade is with the game's characters. In the third expansion, Guardians will have an additional three new subclasses.

Nightstalker

A new subclass for the Hunter Guardians, the Nightstalker will be a void-based support character. No other details have yet surfaced for the new subclass, but the trailer reveals a Nightstalker moving through enemies in a frenzy, hinting at either speed or agility-boosted character. Nightstalkers can also use an ethereal bow and a supermove called the Shadowshot.

Stormcaller

This Warlock subclass focuses on using lightning to destructive effect. With chain lightning moves on its arsenal, the Stormcaller is said to be an offensive machine especially for PvP modes in "Destiny." The tanker's arsenal is also boosted by an arc grenade, new melee attack moves, and a passive skill that reduces melee cooldown. The Sotrmcaller's new supermove is called the Stormtrance, a lightning-based chain attack.

Sunbreaker

A new subclass under the Titan character, Sunbreakers will have the Hammer of Sol supermove, where they can summon a flaming hammer and attack a wave of enemies in one swoop. They will also have the Sunstrike ability that ignites enemies, and is considered to be the flame version of the Solar fist. Although the passive melee perks make the Sunbreaker a defensive team member, hardcore "Destiny" players say that with the right gear and weapons, and the right Guardian partners, a Sunbreaker can become a front-line striker.
