'Destiny': 'The Lighthouse' is a secret area for best players

It seems that the newest expansion for space-age shooter "Destiny" has a surprise of its own; this time, a secret area for the best players.

When the second expansion for the title, dubbed "House of Wolves" rolled out last week, it presented two new events in place of new raids for players.

The first one, Prison of Elders, is an arena with a gauntlet-style gameplay where a trio of Guardians must duke it out against waves upon waves of monsters. The arena challenge was first beaten hours after it has opened.

There is also a second event challenge for players, a PvP arena called Trials of Osiris. This is where a three-man team must battle other team challengers and chalk up points based on the team's performance on the event. Rewards depend on the number of points which can determine the type of Legendary or Exotic items that will be made available for the winning team.

However, it seems that another, more confidential feature has spawned on "Destiny," which only surfaced after the first Trials of Osiris event was held. According to reports, aside from their choice of reward items, winners of the event are also able to unlock and explore a new area in the game. This new area, called The Lighthouse, is only accessible to players who get a perfect run on the player versus player challenge. The ticket, a flawless victory at 9-0 score, seems a bit impossible, but a few players have already gained access to the new social hub.

Aside from teaser videos, though, there are still no details on what's going on at The Lighthouse. Most players who have been given access to the area are saying that this is just a social hub, with no vendors selling rare and exotic items and gears, unlike the newly-opened Reef.
