Game company Bungie already rolled out the update for Year Two of its futuristic sci-fi shooter, "Destiny." However, it seems that not all who have tried downloading "Destiny 2.0" managed to run the game without any flaws. According to reports, there is a growing number of update downloaders, particularly players using Xbox One and 360, who are running into issues when trying to download and install the new update.
Bungie already acknowledged the concern, saying on Twitter, "We are aware of Xbox users reporting issues downloading Destiny Update 2.0.0. Thank you for your patience as we investigate."
While Bungie is still checking out what causes the update download issue, other players who did not run into problems when updating offered a workaround for Xbox One players. As reported by game industry observer GameZone, changing DNS settings before downloading the update may help.
Users can get into the Settings option in the console, and under the Network tab, choose Advanced Settings. Under the options to change the DNS settings manually, players need to enter "8.8.8.8" for the primary and "8.8.4.4" for secondary. If the download freezes halfway, players are advised to enter "208.67.222.222" and "208.67.220.220" as the DNS.
Meanwhile, the update download glitch is not the only issue that "Destiny" players have encountered. According to Bungie, a number of players who have placed pre-orders for "The Taken King" DLC have not received their pre-order bonuses such as emblems, shaders, and other in-game items.
"Destiny 2.0" rolled out Sept. 8, and Bungie said that the Year Two update for their space-age shooter will introduce new improvements and massive changes to the game that "Destiny" will feel like another game entirely. The update is also in preparation for "The Taken King" expansion, which will be released on Sept. 15.
