Some players report that they have been invited to preview an upcoming new feature for developer Bungie's space-age futuristic shooter "Destiny."
According to a post on Reddit, user Zyqlone received an email from Bungie detailing participation in a beta test for the new Gear Manager feature in "Destiny." The message also indicated that "This is a new feature meant to ease the process of transferring your items across your characters and vault. Give it a try, and if you have any feedback, please send it our way!"
Also being reported by industry observer GamesRadar, the new Gear Manager will be a part of the improvements that Bungie will roll out for Year Two of "Destiny." Considered to be an upgrade to the current item manager interface, the Gear Manager will make it more convenient for players to check out and transfer gear and items for their multiple Guardians and the Vault.
The upcoming feature will be a convenient and faster way to inventory all player items without resorting to third-party, outside mobile apps like Destiny Item Manager. This app lets players manage their items between the vault and multiple characters without launching the game.
Meanwhile, while Bungie did not say whether the Gear Manager will be integrated into the game itself, fans expect that the upcoming new feature will at least be accessible in the loading and welcome screens, much like how item and inventory options work for some RPG games. The screenshots taken by players who have already accessed the beta feature show a pane-based interface with drag and drop transfer options, which makes for a much quicker and more convenient allocation of Guardian resources. In addition, the new feature also seems to have filter functions, which can be handy for players searching for custom, Exotics-based builds.
The feature is still in beta, with only select players allowed access to it. Bungie has yet to come out with a rollout window for the new feature.
