Denver Broncos NFL trade & roster news 2018: Team looking to improve quarterback lineup, but will keep Paxton Lynch in roster

The Denver Broncos are having a hard time placing a good quarterback, and the team does not even try to hide this fact. The team's football operations general manager John Elway declared that an improvement of their quarterback roster is the offseason's number one priority, and it seems like he is willing to take any potential solution brought at the team's table.

All three of the Broncos' quarterbacks, Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch, had difficulties with turnovers. The team had 22 interceptions overall— the second highest in the league surpassed only in number by the Cleveland Browns. The Broncos also had 12 fumbles last season, and four of those were committed by the said three quarterbacks.

Perhaps this is why Elway concluded that "for us to have a chance to get better we have to get better at the position."

It has been reported that Broncos may turn to free agency, as this is their best chance at improving their roster. Analysts would say that based on the history of the team, their best quarterbacks would come from outside the team.

Of course, Elway must have a plan in motion for him to declare that getting a new quarterback is their top priority. Reportedly, the Broncos are interested in signing Kirk Cousins and Case Keenum to take the specified position.

Meanwhile, there is a certainty that Lynch will stay on as a member of the Broncos. Elway said that the athlete still has a chance of making it big in the National Football League (NFL) if he continues to get better. In addition, the team thinks that they have not evaluated Lynch enough to kick him out of the team.

"By no means are we kicking him to the curb," Elway said, referring to Lynch. Of course, this does not stop the team from looking for a better quarterback that will fill in the starter position.
