Dallas Mavericks news 2015: Playing minute restrictions 'frustrating for everybody'

The Dallas Mavericks hardly have a reason to complain, seeing how their 2015–16 National Basketball Association (NBA) campaign is holding up.

After being billed as a team that could have a hard time winning games, the Mavs have been proving their detractors wrong.

Everyone knows the dramatic offseason the team had, one that involved the shunning made by DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers which messed up all the plans of Mark Cuban's charges.

But somehow, the team has found a way to make it work with the handful of players they got from the free agent market. That plus the fact that Dirk Nowitzki is holding his own, head coach Rick Carlisle has marvelously guided the Mavs to a sane 11–9 record, which was good enough to put them in fifth place of the tight NBA Western Conference.

Do take note that they are also dealing with players who are coming off injuries. That include Chandler Parsons and Wesley Matthews, both entering the current season with injuries on the side.

The two are slowly being grooved back to play, although their limited minutes have made them a bit uncomfortable.

Just the same, the minute restrictions are being done with reason. One is to make sure that the players return perfectly from injury as well as to make sure that they blend in perfectly with their teammates who are holding up the fort with gusto.

Looking at the big picture, the Mavs could be deadlier than what they are now. For a team that is trying to make do with scrap players, their record right now is already an achievement.

With the season still in its infancy stages, one can just imagine how stronger Carlisle's team would be in the coming months.

One thing that is for sure — they have a good shot at making the playoffs, something that was also not expected by people who counted the Mavs out before the regular season went underway.
