Conor McGregor is obviously a big name in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) right now, further pushed with that 13-second finish off former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 194.

But as everyone may have heard from McGregor himself, "The Notorious" plans to take it up a notch and is considering moving up to the UFC lightweight division. Is it a good or bad idea?

McGregor loves a challenge, although the fighters he will be facing may be a lot bigger and seasoned should he indeed make the big jump. And word of his plans has, apparently, reached some of the UFC lightweight stars, notably champion Rafael dos Anjos and Nate Diaz.

Both are coming off stirring performances at "UFC on Fox 17" and in their respective interviews, both were aware of McGregor's plans. And seeing how they spoke, it doesn't look like it is going to be a fruitful one for the brash talking Irishman.

Both dos Anjos and Diaz apparently want to teach McGregor a lesson, perhaps in the same way that his featherweight adversaries want to. But the difference is that this is an entirely new level, probably more brutal that would see him work on his footwork and beef up his legs for his strikes to make a difference.

After dos Anjos and Diaz gave their piece, it would only be a matter of time before McGregor would bark back. And he did so via Twitter, saying, "Line them up on their knees with hands out. I want them to beg me," which are expected to fire up both fighters as well.

Then again, the response was something to be expected seeing how McGregor has been doing it recently. But would upsetting dos Anjos, Diaz, and maybe some other UFC lightweight fighters be a good idea?

McGregor is likely to care less, but it should also be noted that while he has plans to move up to lightweight, he doesn't intend to vacate the UFC featherweight title.
