The big September "Clash of Clans" update is now just a few days away, and fans of the free to play strategy mobile game are now anxiously waiting for the changes it is going to implement.

While not much has been officially revealed yet about the upcoming update, numerous reports have already surfaced online which gives fans some clues about what to expect when it comes out.

One of the requests that fans have been clamoring for in the next big update is the addition of "Clan Challenges." The game's developer — Supercell — is  known to listen to customer feedback, so it is possible that the September update will include this feature.

If this turns out to be true, then clans may now be allowed to send friendly challenge requests or "arrange wars" with other clans when the update comes out.

Another change that is expected to come with the update is in-line with a feature that Supercell is also reportedly going to be making on their spin-off game, "Clash Royale." The update could allow Clash of Clans" players to earn extra gems, specifically via a free gem mining feature. Earning gems within the game is quite difficult and tedious at times.

A new feature allowing players to earn extra gems will certainly be a welcome one. However, the feature could translate to a decrease in profits for the company, so there might be a limit to its implementation if it does make it to the update.

The update will also likely include a number of changes to the unit's defense and damage stats, with the goal of further balancing out armies during battles. Several bug fixes and enhancements are also expected, along with some changes to the game's looting and penalty system.

The September "Clash of Clans" update is expected to be released next week on Sunday, Sept. 18.
