Rick (Nathan Fillion) will be teaming up with Alexis (Molly Quinn) in one of the upcoming episodes of the hit ABC series "Castle."

TV Line reports that season 8 episode 14 will see father and daughter working on a case together. Their probe will lead to a crazy trail from Los Angeles to New York, where a murder investigation is taking center stage in NY Police Department. The pair will be getting help from Rick's new partner Hayley (Toks Olagundoye). The spoiler also reveals that a familiar face who may have something to do with Rick's disappearance on his original wedding day will be reintroduced.

Meanwhile, speculations are ripe that Kate (Stana Katic) has something to do with her husband's memory loss on that fatal night. This was after co-showrunner Alexi Hawley told in a recent interview that the agent and perhaps LokSat have links to Rick's predicament. Hawley shared that they have not actually "nailed down" that storyline yet, but it was something that they intend to finish.

"We haven't nailed the story down for it, but we do like the idea that something that Castle came across during his missing time is actually why his memory was wiped — and it wasn't necessarily about the reason we showed in Season 7. And it does have something to do with Beckett," the executive producer said.

During the midseason finale, Rick and Kate finally had their much awaited reunion. Kate apologized to her husband for keeping him out of her LokSat investigation. The pair has drifted apart after Kate got engrossed with her probe, she forgot that she has a husband at home, waiting for her. At first, Rick played hard to get, but decided to forgive his wife for what happened.

Although they are officially a couple once more, Rick and Kate will reportedly decide to keep the progress in their relationship a secret to their colleagues. This is their way to separate work from their private lives.

"Castle" season 8 returns on Feb. 1, 2016 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
