'Castle' season 8 episode 7 spoilers: Rick, Kate rub elbows with the New York noblesse

Rick (Nathan Fillion) and Kate (Stana Katic) will hobnob with New York's filthy rich in the upcoming episode of the ABC series "Castle."

In "The Last Seduction," Cartermatt reports that husband and wife will be tapped to investigate the murder of a swindler who is known to be a seducer of the elite. To identify his killer, Rick and Kate will need to interview the affluent people of New York City. The murderer is at large and is very dangerous, based on the brutal way he ended the victim's life. They must hunt him down before he could hurt someone again. Will they be able to work together, despite their indifference?

In an interview with TV Line, writer Terence Paul Winter commented on the rumored disappointment of fans regarding Rick and Kate's separation. Some sources even reported that the subsequent fall of the show's rating was because of the sudden turn of event on the otherwise smooth-sailing relationship of the couple. Winter said that he and fellow writer Alexi Hawley were planning something exciting for the pair and that viewers would know this in episode 7.

"It's going to be a great episode. For the fans who right now are going, 'What the heck and Terence and Alexi doing?!,' when they see that episode they'll understand and see what we're going for," he said.

Last episode, Rick's old friend Slaughter (guest star Adam Baldwin) returned and he was in trouble. He wanted to ask Rick to help him solve a robbery case. But when the heist became associated with murder, Slaughter was declared a suspect. Rick was not sure whether his pal was guilty or not, but he decided to help anyway. While he was busy, Kate was reportedly out of town.

"Castle" season 8 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
