Rick (Nathan Fillion) will finally get his wish to become a key witness to a case in the upcoming episode of the hit ABC series "Castle." Unfortunately, it will not be as fun as he expected it to be.

In "Witness for the Prosecution," Spoiler TV reports that the writer-turned-investigator will be asked to become the star witness in a case that happened several months ago. Rick's performance may not be perfect, but he will manage to convince the court that the suspect in the murder should be locked up as long as he lives. But when new details crop up about the incident, he will be horrified to learn that he may have brought injustice to the poor guy.

He and wife Beckett (Stana Katic) will rush to prevent what may be "a miscarriage of justice." Along the way, Rick will learn that being in a profession anchored on the law is not as easy as it seems. He will also realize that being the "star" in court is not as enjoyable as it sounds, especially when the lawyers start hammering questions at him. Spoilers reveal, however, that Rick will have a "goofy" time, as he injects his trademark wit and humor to the situation.

Castle showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter revealed to TV Line some snippets on the upcoming episode. According to them, it would be the first time in the show's history that they would explore a trial in a courtroom. The experience would also feature Rick remembering the past.

"I think it will be a treat for our longtime fans, because it refers to several things that have happened in the last few years. He's an 'interesting' guy to give testimony. He has to take the stand- annnnnd it kind of goes sideways. So then there's fallout from that, some scrambling to do damage control!" Winter shared.

"Castle" season 8 episode 10 will have a special airtime on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
