The highly awaited match involving World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and Mexican challenger Canelo Alvarez is just a couple of weeks away.

One man who is expected to keep close tabs on it is Gennady Golovkin, the rampaging boxer from Kazakhstan who has been knocking out opponents left and right. The WBC has ordered the winner of the Alvarez vs. Cotto match to fight Golovkin next.

Regardless, it seems that both sides are wary of facing Triple G as they continue to sound off conditions which have not sit well with Golovkin.

Are both fighters trying to avoid a showdown with the knockout-conscious Golovkin? Well, they may deny it but it certainly looks like the case.

In fact, both sides are already making their next plans. And from the looks of it, they will be looking for a smaller opponent next rather than face Triple G head on.

Triple G can still technically fight either one assuming he does go down the set catchweight. Golovkin has considered the condition as crazy and from the looks of it will not likely heed it. The same goes for the WBC who is unlikely to give in to such a clause.

Depending on who wins, a likely scenario would see either Cotto or Alvarez facing the winner of another tiff set for this weekend — Timothy Bradley Jr. vs. Brandon Rios. But somehow things don't add up once more with reference to the catchweight requirements.

For one, Bradley and Rios will be fighting at the 147 lbs. catchweight while the Cotto vs. Alvarez showdown is set at 155 lbs.

Alvarez maintains he will fight at 155 while Rios is not fine with the idea of moving up that line. In all likeliness, Bradley and Cotto will have the same concern.

Whatever happens, new developments are expected to come out after the Nov. 21 fight. If Cotto or Alvarez don't want to face Triple G, would this mean they will give up the WBC title instead?

Such seems like a shameless act wouldn't you agree?
