It is not often that viewers see friends and partners Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) and Jake (Andy Samberg) in a fight, but one of the upcoming episodes of the hit FOX series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will come close to it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jake's old friend will pay him a visit and his presence will rub Charles the wrong way. Stevie ('New Girl' alum Damon Wayans Jr.), Jake's first ever partner in their "beat cop days," will arrive at the 99th precinct of the New York City Police. Jake is reportedly so excited to see him; he cannot help but reminisce about their escapades all the time. As the old colleagues work a case together, Charles cannot help but feel excluded from their constant trip down the memory lane.

As Jake's new partner-in-crime and constant companion, Charles is jealous of Stevie. The more Jake looks like he is enjoying Stevie's presence, the more Charles feels that Jake prefers the other guy for a partner. Will his possessiveness affect their investigation? Charles is bound to see Stevie as a threat and will compete with him in solving the case. For his part, Stevie will be bewildered that Jake's new partner is antagonistic toward him. As the issue is so petty, Jake will likely laugh about Charles' behavior. Will this fuel the latter's anger even more?

Meanwhile, it appears that Charles' bad days will continue, as aside from meeting good old Stevie, his notorious ex-wife Eleanor (Kathryn Hahn) will also arrive to shake up his world. Entertainment Weekly reports that her visit will not go well, especially when she comes face-to-face with Charles' current girlfriend Genevieve (Mary Lynn Rajskub). Known in the precinct as a "frightful force of nature," terrible Eleanor cheated on Charles before, but he has moved on from her ever since.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 returns in its new time slot, Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
