Jake (Andy Samberg) will be overjoyed to see an old friend back from his beat cop days in the upcoming episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

In "The 9-8," TV.com reports that 99th precinct of the New York City Police will play host to the detectives from a neighboring district, the 98th. To Jake's surprise, he will discover that his best buddy Stevie ("New Girl" alum Damon Wayans Jr.), his very first partner when he joined the force, is one of the visiting cops. It appears that ever since Jake has been assigned to 99th, he and Stevie have lost in touch. Now that they have found each other again, viewers can expect that there will be a lot of catching up to do between the two friends.

Stevie's arrival, however, will not sit well with Jake's current partner and buddy Charles (Joe Lo Truglio). The synopsis reveals that the latter will be jealous of Jake's camaraderie with Stevie. Watching the promo for episode 15, Charles has reasons to become green-eyed. Jake and Stevie are two peas in a pod, they even finish each other's sentences. The friends gel so well together they often forget Charles is around. With Jake so wrapped up with reminiscing the old days with Stevie, Charles is left feeling alone and left out. Will Charles and Stevie ever hit it off?

Meanwhile, it is not only Charles who will feel antagonistic over the visiting detectives. It appears that the rest of his friends will fail in welcoming the 98th with open arms. According to a previous report by The Hollywood Reporter, Stevie is there to team up with Jake in a new case. This means that the two precincts will have to work with each other in the investigation. In the clip, Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) is saying "I love this" with a sarcastic expression. Is he pertaining to the work that his team and the guys from the 98th will be working on?

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
