Boxing News 2015: Shane Mosley seeking rematch with past foes

Young or old, any boxer would want to get the chance to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr., who remains undefeated to this day. So with the long list of fighters that the undefeated American boxer could face, adding an old foe and familiar face may not really hurt.

The old face is no other than Shane Mosley who came out of retirement to face Ricardo Mayorga this Aug. 29 on pay-per-view at a venue that has yet to be announced.

The two fighters are no stranger to each other. They first fought on Sept. 27, 2008 with Mosely winning by knockout (KO) with only one second left in the 12th round.

And now seven years after, the two are facing off again after the two boxers crossed, following a heated exchange over Twitter.

But aside from Mayorga, it looks like Mosley is also looking to level the score with old foes who have handed him losses, according to boxingscene.com.

In the list are Floyd Mayweather Jr. to whom he lost on May 1, 2010, Manny Pacquiao (May 7, 2011) and Miguel Cotto (Nov. 10, 2011).

But the difference is his age. Now at 43, questions surround how Mosley can stand up to his former foes. Although Mosley has reportedly been keeping himself in shape, returning to the ring after a 22-month respite does raise some questions.

For his part, Mosley seems pumped up to return to the ring; and on whether or not he still has it will be known when he clashes with 41-year-old Nicaraguan on Aug. 29.

The heat between the two has been going on for quite some time now, trash-talking on Twitter that led to the sudden clash.

This early, both are making their calls on the outcome — knockout.

Mosley vows to win by KO in the sixth round while Mayorga promises to do it in two.

Could there be really a KO from either fighter or will it go the distance?
