'Bones' season 11 spoilers: Hodgins to continue working for the Jeffersonian?

With his current health condition, Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) may just call it quits with the Jeffersonian and go into seclusion in the second half of season 11 of the FOX long-running series "Bones."

Hodgins has been with the Jeffersonian for a long time. When the series started in 2005, he is one of the primary characters. Amidst all the difficulties he experienced for being sole heir of the elite Hodgins family working in a government organization, he enjoys his work as its resident "Bug Boy" (entomologist, botanist, and mineralogist in one). When his wife Angela (Michaela Conlin) once shared her hopes that they leave the Jeffersonian and live abroad, Hodgins convinced her to stay.

After the explosion that took place during the midseason finale, it was revealed that Hodgins' spine was damaged, making him paralyzed from the waist down. It remains unclear if his condition will improve, but the prognosis is not looking good. Co-showrunner John Collier previously told TV Line that there was "a good chance" he would never walk again. In the event that Hodgins would make a miraculous recovery, he shared that it was going to be tough.

Being paralyzed is a harrowing ordeal that Hodgins will not bear silently. He will reportedly suffer depression and push Angela and his friends away. Instead of taking therapy for his back, he will prefer to be just left alone. It is entirely possible that he will take a break from working with the Jeffersonian, just to escape the pitying glances that are sure to come his way. All through it all, Angela will stick with her man. Conlin shared this spoiler in her recent interview.

"There are different stages of adapting to a tragedy like this, and right now we're in the stage of Hodgins giving up a little bit... She always sort of has one foot out the door. But now she's like, 'I'm all in with you, I want this to work,'" she shared.

"Bones" season 11 is expected to return in 2016, but FOX has yet to announce a specific return date.
