"Blue Bloods" will soon have its seventh season hit the television screens, and a lot of fans are excited to know more about this highly popular police drama and what it can offer.

According to the "Blue Bloods" official Twitter Account, the seventh season of this show will be coming back in the United States on Sept. 23. Fans have been worried that some of the main characters will not make a come back anymore, but so far there are no official statements about changes made in its cast.

However, there will be new guest stars that will join the upcoming "Blue Bloods" season, as confirmed by Entertainment Weekly. Lori Loughlin and Michael Imperioli will join the season premiere, with the latter playing the role of a hard-charging lawyer from the attorney general's office. He will be in charge of the investigation into Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg), as well as the shooting death of Thomas Wilder, a serial killer.

Loughlin will play the role of Grace, the widow of a police officer killed in action. According to Game N Guide, she will beg Frank (Tom Selleck) to stop her son from aspiring to become a police officer and end up like his father.

"Blue Bloods," despite being on air for approximately seven years, still remains to be one of the most popular and highly watched shows every night on CBS. However, there are rumors that this series will be cancelled despite these facts. This might be because the cost of production may be outside of the studio's capabilities, especially since they opted to cast a highly regarded actor such as Selleck and could be eating a huge chunk of the show's budget.

Regardless, with the number of viewers this show brings to CBS, they might not be willing to let it go just yet.
